This paper aims to highlight the necessity of implementing a dedicated system for safeguarding witnesses in cases of domestic violence, a pressing need underscored by both legislative mandates and human rights imperatives. It emphasizes the critical role of such a system in ensuring the protection of individuals, particularly those legally obligated to report incidents of domestic violence, such as service providers in education, healthcare, and social services sectors. Additionally, it underscores the importance of safeguarding the victims themselves, which can serve to enhance the willingness of individuals to report instances of domestic violence they encounter or that are brought to their attention by specialists. By advocating for the establishment of this specialized protection system, the paper seeks to promote a proactive approach towards addressing domestic violence and supporting those affected by it, in alignment with both legal obligations and fundamental human rights principles.
