This policy paper has been crafted in response to the pressing need to enhance ongoing efforts aimed at bolstering the rights of seniors. Through a meticulous examination of the legal framework designed to safeguard and uphold these rights, this paper seeks to contribute meaningfully to this issue. Recognizing the complexity and overlap of various rights, our focus centers on pivotal areas that can serve as cornerstones for ensuring effective protection. Specifically, we delve into the expansive domain of fundamental human rights, with particular emphasis on the right to equality before the law. Our analysis from both legislative and legal standpoints aims to pinpoint areas necessitating intervention to ensure the comprehensive realization of this principle. We contend that such intervention serves as a pivotal gateway to both legal and practical safeguards for the elderly population.
